Days after conducting a press conference to answer questions related to re-NEET and paper leak allegations, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a high-level meeting to assess preparations for the re-NEET scheduled to be conducted on June 21. Emphasising the need for fairness and transparency in conducting the exam, Pradhan said that all shortcomings identified in the earlier examination process must be completely addressed. He stated that re-NEET must be conducted in a secure, seamless and foolproof manner under stringent security protocols. NEET UG 2026 paper leak LIVE updates.

Highlighting the importance of security and vigilance at exam centres, Pradhan instructed officials to make proper arrangements for students, including transport, drinking water and other basic facilities.

RE-NEET 2026: Important dates

Candidates who wish to change their preferred exam city due to a change in their present address can update the details on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, from May 15 to May 21, 2026. The correction window will remain open till 11:50 pm on May 21. Candidates who do not make any changes will retain their previously selected exam city. No requests for changes will be accepted after the deadline.

5 things to know about RE-NEET

  • The examination will be conducted in offline pen and Paper mode across various cities in India and abroad in 13 languages — Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
  • Candidates can update their present address and choose two preferred exam cities. Candidates will not be allowed to change the medium of examination selected during the original application process.
  • If city selection is unavailable after address update, candidates should check the list of available exam mediums and locations in the NEET UG 2026 information bulletin.
  • The examination centre allotted for Re-NEET may differ from the earlier centre as allotment depends on the city selected by the candidate.
  • Re-NEET 2026 will be held on June 21 from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Candidates will get an extra 15 minutes for verification, documentation and other exam formalities.

NEET UG 2026 was cancelled following allegations of paper leaks and irregularities during the examination process. After multiple protests and legal scrutiny, the CBI is now probing the matter and arrests are being made.
