SASTRA University to launch Indo-Taiwan MTech programme today

NEW DELHI: SASTRA Deemed to be University will be launching the Indo-Taiwan MTech programme in Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) Design on August 18, 2021, at 2 pm. AICTE Chairman Professor Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe will be inaugurating the launch of Indo-Taiwan MTech programme in VLSI Design today.

Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, chief human resource officer, Tata Electronics Private Limited, Professor Jeffrey JP Tsai, President of Asia University Taiwan, Professor Jyh-Yang Wu, Yuan Ze University will also be present at the live launch event.

SASTRA Deemed to be University and Tata Electronics signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build expertise in electronics design and manufacturing in collaboration with two Taiwanese Universities - Asia University and Yuan Ze University.

Applications for the MTech programme were made available online on the official website - sastra.edu - from June 30, 2021, and admissions will be based on the UG degree performance and interview.

Students admitted to the two-year MTech degree in VLSI design will complete one year of the course at SASTRA campus in Thanjavur and the second year in either Asia University or Yuan Ze University in Taiwan.

The second-year curriculum will include practical experience in major lab facilities, a six-month industry internship in Taiwan’s advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry and basic Chinese language skills.

“TEPL will work closely with SASTRA University to co-create the course curriculum and will provide financial support for overseas education and training of these students. The tuition and living costs for the second year of study at Taiwan shall be fully sponsored.” according to a statement by the university.
