SRFTI Announces list of Shortlisted Candidates

NEW DELHI, APRIL 20: Satayajit Ray Film & Television Institutes has announced the list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of the selection process for admissions to the different programmes that are offered by it. Candidates have been shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Joint Entrance Test (JET 2018) which was conducted by FTII in offline mode on February 18, 2018.
The next round of selection for admission to SRFTI will comprise of orientation and interview. The institute will mail to the candidates the call letter in which the date and time of the next round of selection will be mentioned. The orientation will be held between May 30 to June 25 with different dates for different programmes while interviews will also be held between June 7 to 26, 2018.
For the final selection, the written test will be given 25% weightage, for the interactive orientation course, 50% will be the weightage and for the interview, the weightage given will be 25%.
There are a total of 72 seats for the three years diploma course in the film wing with 12 seats each for the six specialisations that are offered at SRFTI. For the two years diploma courses in the television wing, there are a total 30 seats with 5 each allotted for the six specialisations that are offered.
At the time of the selection process, candidates will have to produce original documents along with two self-attested copies. The list of documents which the candidates will have to produce is given below:
- Original Mark-sheets & Admit Cards (Class X/ XII/ Degree)
- Three stamp size (2x2.5cm) colour photographs
- Self-attested photocopies of all admit cards and marksheets

Parents’/guardian’s income certificate or, any one of the following
a. Copy of the Income Tax Return
b. Copy of Form 16
c. Copy of the Pay Slip/ Salary Certificate from the employer
d. Income Certificate from local MLA/Councillor - Admit Card of JET 2018
- Photo ID card like voter Id card, Driving license, Aadhaar card, Passport etc for contact address
- Original Caste Certificate (SC/ST candidates only) and two self-attested photocopies
- OBC (Non Creamy) original Certificate along with two self-attested copies of category certificate which are issued after January 2017 by a recognised authority
Candidates who are visually challenged, they will not be offered admission in the cinematography programme, while those who are hearing impaired, they will not be given admission in the sound, recording and design programme.
