Tamil Nadu 12th result announced, Virudhnagar top district with 97%

NEW DELHI, MAY 16: Directorate of Government Examination (DGE), Tamil Nadu has released class 12th board Result 2018. This year, the pass percentage of TN HSC is 91.1percent. Virudhnagar has emerged as the top district with 97 percent, Erode comes second with 96.3 percent.
The result is announced on the official website tnresults.nic.in. A total of 6754 schools have achieved 100 percent result. To promote healthy competition among students, Tamil Nadu Education Board did not announce the top three rank holders. The exams were conducted from March 1 to April 6, 2018 and about 9 lakh students appeared for Tamil Nadu HSC +2 examination.

Subject-wise pass percentage
1. Physics - 96.2
2. Computer science – 96.1
3. Biology - 96.3
4. Maths - 96.4
5. Botany - 93.9
6. Zoology - 91.3
7. Commerce - 90.3
8. Chemistry - 95.0
Last year, a total of 8,93,262 students appeared for TN HSC examination. The overall pass percentage was 92.1% and that of boys and girls was 89.3% and 94.5% respectively.
