UCEED, CEED 2024: IIT Bombay revises syllabus for design entrance exam

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has revised the syllabi of the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) and Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) 2024 exams. The UCEED and CEED 2024 revised syllabi are made available at the official websites -- uceed.iitb.ac.in and ceed.iitb.ac.in respectively.
The question papers in UCEED and CEED 2023 will be designed to test candidates for open, creative and inquisitive disposition, ability to think critically, capacity to comprehend and communicate, and breadth of worldview, an IIT Bombay statement said. The question paper will have two parts.
CEED question paper will have ask questions from topics including visualization and spatial reasoning, use of practical and scientific knowledge, observation and design sensitivity, capacity to detect concealed properties in day to-day life and think critically about them, environment and society, analytical and logical reasoning, language, creativity, art and design knowledge and awareness about art, artefact, product, artists, designers, art and design history and trends and design methods and practices.
Drawing ability, creativity, communication, problem identification will be asked in part 2 of CEED 2024 paper.
As per the UCEED 2023 syllabus, part A will have questions from topics including visualization and spatial reasoning, practical and scientific knowledge, observation and design sensitivity, environment and society, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity. While part B will have questions from drawing and design aptitude.
While issuing the UCEED, CEED 2024 revised syllabus, IIT Bombay said: “The topics given above are exhaustive and indicative of the nature of the questions.”
