NEW DELHI: All the universities and colleges have been asked to fill up all the vacant teaching and non-teaching posts under various reserved categories. The institutions receiving public funds have been asked to ensure effective implementation of the Reservation Policy as per Article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India.

The UGC in a letter to all the institutions on February 1 has stated that it is mandatory to furnish details related to teaching and non-teaching vacancies as well as admissions to all level courses and hostel accommodation during 2020-21 on their website and on the UGC portal.

All centrally-funded institutions have been asked to ensure strict compliance with the Government of India orders or rules on reservation. “State universities including its affiliated or constituent colleges and other institutes functioning within the State should follow the percentage of reservation for SC/ST & OBC (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and persons with Disabilities as prescribed by the concerned state government,” says UGC letter.

The UGC has asked all institutions to fill up the remaining backlog of reserved vacancies under these categories in teaching and non-teaching posts. The letter states: “The above instructions should also be circulated to all the constituent and affiliated colleges.”
