The written test includes Reading Skills (textual), which carries 20 marks, and Reading Skills (non-textual), which also carries 20 marks. Grammar is allotted 15 marks, while writing skills carry the highest share in the written section with 25 marks. In addition to the written test, internal assessment is conducted through oral tests, which carry 20 marks. Altogether, the English exam is conducted for a total of 100 marks, combining both written and internal assessment components.

Both First Language English and Third Language English papers will be conducted in the morning session at designated exam centres across the state.
