The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct CBSE Board 2026 Class 10 Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence exams today from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Students must carry their hall ticket and school ID to the exam centres for verification purposes. To pass the CBSE board exams 2026, students must score atleast 33% marks in each subject.

CBSE Class 10 Computer Applications theory paper carries 50 marks, and the remaining 50 marks are allotted for practical and internal assessments.

From this year onwards, the CBSE board will conduct Class 10th exams twice a year, as per NEP recommendations. CBSE board exams 2026 for Class 10 phase will end on March 11, and the second phase will be held from May 15 to June 1, as an improvement exam.
CBSE board exams 2026 for Class 12 will end on April 10 for all stream students. As per the board’s guidelines, students must carry their CBSE board admit card 2026 along with their school ID for verification at the centre. More than 25 lakh students have registered for the Class 10 exam, of whom 16 lakh are boys and 10.9 lakh are girls.
Students will be given a 15-minute reading time, from 10:15 am to 10:30 am, to allow them read the question paper before writing the time begins. CBSE authorities have stated that students will not be allowed to enter the exam centre after 10 am.

The CBSE Class 10 exam follows an 80-mark theory paper of three hours, along with 20 marks allotted for internal assessment conducted by schools. The question paper is designed with 50% competency-based questions, including MCQs and case-based questions, 30% short and long answer questions, and 20% objective-type questions. Students must score at least 33% to pass each subject.

Entry will not be allowed after the gates close.
Students must remain seated until the exam concludes and the final bell rings.

CBSE has implemented an on-screen marking system for evaluating Class 12 board examination answer sheets. However, it has specified that Class 10 answer scripts will continue to be evaluated using the conventional physical marking process.
Before the official start of the evaluation process, the first day will be dedicated to familiarising examiners with the marking scheme, carrying out sample assessments to reduce variations in scoring, and training teachers to efficiently use the digital evaluation platform.

CBSE will design competency-based assessments for its skill subjects in alignment with the standards of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The board has also decided to introduce semiconductor technology as a new skill subject for students in Classes 8 to 12. Additionally, an artificial intelligence course for students starting from Class 3 will be rolled out in the 2026–27 academic session. These decisions were finalized during the board’s most recent governing body meeting.

The revised penalties for CBSE Board exams 2026 are as follows:
If a candidate is found using unfair means in any subject, their result for that subject will be cancelled. The cancelled subject cannot be substituted with marks from a sixth or seventh subject for the purpose of declaring a pass.
In such cases, the candidate will be placed in the compartment category and must reappear for the concerned subject.
Starting from 2026, these rules will apply uniformly to all students appearing for the Class 10 examinations conducted by the CBSE.
