UP Polls 2022: Congress leader Priyanka released the party manifesto which promises filling of 2 lakh vacant teaching jobs, control in school fees.

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has released Congress manifesto one day before the UP Election 2022 promising free education for students from tribal and backward classes, filling up of 2 lakh vacant teaching jobs, reduction in school fees if voted to power.
The party’s manifesto came after the BJP and SP manifesto released on Tuesday.

The key promises of Congress for education in the state include free education for tribal and backward classes from Kindergarten to Postgraduate, 2 lakh vacant seats to be filled, school fees to be controlled.

The Samajwadi Party manifesto also promises to provide free education to girl students from KG to PG along with 6% increase in education budget.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has promised to make education accessible in the state and said it will offer 2 crore tablets and smartphones and provide free coaching for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), National Defence Academy (NDA) under its manifesto.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) manifesto promises to allocate 25% of the state’s budget to education if voted to power.
Meanwhile, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has analysed the educational backgrounds along with other details of the 615 candidates out of 623 contesting in the elections. According to the ADR report, 15 candidates are illiterate while 10 have just passed Class 5.
Uttar Pradesh will go to poll in seven phases from February 10 to March 7, 2022.
