UPSC CSE Mains 2025 application process starts on June 16; 14,161 candidates shortlisted

Download EBookThe Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Civil Service Examination (CSE) preliminary exam results and the registration dates for the UPSC CSE Mains 2025 exam. A total of 14,161 candidates have been shortlisted for the UPSC CSE Mains 2025 exam.

Along with the results, the commission has also published the UPSC prelims shortlisted candidates’ list with name and roll number on the official website, upsc.gov.in. The UPSC prelims results of four candidates have been withheld due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
The commission will announce the UPSC CSE cut-off only after the final results. As per past trends, the cut-offs for the general category increased from 75.41 to 87.98 last year. The highest cut-off of 92.51 marks for UPSC IAS Mains was recorded in 2020.
Candidates should note that the UPSC prelims cut-off is prepared based on paper 1. Whereas, the general studies paper 2 is the qualifying paper. Aspirants who have secured at least 33% in paper 2 have been declared eligible for the second round.
UPSC CSE Mains 2025 application form
The UPSC CSE Mains 2025 will consist of a written test and interview or personality test. The exams will be conducted for a total of 2,025 marks. The UPSC Mains 2025 application will be available on the official website, upsc.gov.in, from June 16 to 25.
Candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 200 for admission into the civil services mains exam. However, female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from paying fees. They will also be allowed to submit or update the scribe details and assistive device. Candidates will also have an option to opt for a question paper in large font for the Mains exam.
They are also required to submit official documents if their name has been changed after matriculation or if there is any mismatch in the name submitted in CSE application and higher secondary certificate.
