UPSC ESE main result 2026 out; 1,341 candidates qualify for personality test

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Main 2026 written result. A total of 1,341 candidates qualified for the Personality Test across four engineering disciplines. Civil Engineering accounted for the highest number of shortlisted candidates with 646 qualifiers.

As per the notice, the candidature of all shortlisted candidates is provisional and subject to verification of eligibility. Candidates will have to produce original documents related to age, educational qualifications, category and benchmark disability, wherever applicable, during the personality test.

UPSC ESE Main 2026 qualified candidates stream-wise

According to the UPSC ESE mains result 2026 released by the commission, 646 candidates qualified from civil engineering, followed by 299 candidates from electronics and telecommunication engineering (ET&T), 213 candidates from mechanical engineering, and 183 candidates from electrical engineering. The candidates have been shortlisted based on their performance in the Engineering Services (Main) Examination held on June 21, 2026.

As part of the selection process, the commission will open a 15-day window for qualified candidates to update their details and upload proof of passing the required qualifying examination on the UPSC portal. Candidates will also be able to update their correspondence address, higher qualifications, employment details, service experience and service preferences during this period.

Those who fail to complete the process will not be permitted to appear for the interview, and their candidature will be cancelled.

UPSC has made it mandatory for all shortlisted candidates in the UPSC ESE mains to log in and submit the application form to generate the e-summon letter for the personality test.

• Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
• On the homepage, click on the "What's New" section.
• Select the "Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2026 Written Result" link.
• The result PDF will open on the screen.
• Search for your roll number using Ctrl+F
• Download and save the PDF for future reference.

The UPSC ESE 2026 interview schedule will be announced separately on the UPSC website. Candidates will be able to download their e-summons letters once the personality test dates are notified. The UPSC ESE prelims result 2026 was announced on February 27, 2026.
