UPSC Prelims 2020 - Supreme Court to hear plea seeking IAS exam postponement

Download EBookNEW DELHI: Supreme Court will hear the plea regarding UPSC Prelims 2020 postponement on September 30. UPSC Prelims 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on October 4 in offline mode across the country. Previously, the exam was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Earlier on September 28, the Supreme Court had heard the matter regarding the UPSC exam postponement. UPSC has stated that it is not possible to postpone UPSC 2020 prelims . In reply, the Supreme Court had asked UPSC to file an affidavit mentioning the reasons why it is not possible to postpone the UPSC prelims 2020. The reasons stated by petitioners in the Supreme Court are transport problems and floods in many parts of the country.
Keeping the COVID-19 situation in mind, South Central Railway has announced to run special trains for UPSC aspirants in UPSC prelims exam 2020.
SCR has announced two special trains for the applicants from Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. As per the orders, the train will halt at eight stations. Orders to restore train halts have already been given.
Previously, the Supreme Court had issued notice to UPSC and Centre regarding the UPSC prelims exam being postponed. Aspirants considered it a very positive sign but later the matter was adjourned.
UPSC has released the UPSC prelims 2020 admit card on September 1 at its official website. Candidates must carry one valid photo ID proof along with the admit card on the exam day.
