NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will likely declare the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) result 2024 for the December session soon, as per past trends. However, NTA has not yet announced the exact UGC NET 2024 result date for December session. The lack of information on UGC NET 2024 December session result date has sparked frustration and anxiety among candidates, The UGC NET 2024 result will be announced on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will be required to enter their application number and date of birth to access the UGC NET result 2024. The UGC NET 2024 December session was conducted from January 3 to 27. The NTA has published UGC NET answer key 2024 on January 31. The UGC NET 2024 answer key objection window was open from January 31 to February 3, till 6 pm.
As per official figures, a total of 6.49 lakh candidates have appeared for the UGC NET 2024 December session exam. The UGC NET 2024 December exam was conducted in online mode at 558 exam centres. The UGC NET 2024 result will mention candidates’ name, roll number, parent’s name, exam year, category, subject name, subject codes, total marks, and qualifying status.
The UGC NET 2024 exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for admission to PhD programmes, award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and appointment as assistant professor.
UGC NET Result Date 2024: No confirmation from officials
Candidates awaiting the UGC NET December 2024 results have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration and anxiety over the delay. One user tagged officials and urged them to declare the UGC NET 2024 results, stating that aspirants are in a state of 'extreme' distress. The user posted, "Please release UGC Net December 2024 result. We, the candidates are in extreme anxiety and in a state of disturbance regarding the delay in publishing of the result". Another user tagged UGC chairman, asking for clarity on the official UGC NET 2024 result date for December session.
UGC NET December Results 2024: Category-wise passing marks
According to UGC NET passing marks 2025, candidates belonging to the general category are required to score 40% marks to qualify. Whereas Other Backward Classes (OBC), Person with Disabilities (PwD), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and transgender candidates need 35% marks to qualify the UGC NET 2024 exam.

The NTA will publish the UGC NET December 2024 cut-off along with results. The UGC NET 2024 cut-offs for the last three sessions are given below.
