1.36 crore students participate in third addition of Veer Gatha Project

Ministries of defence and education will felicitate 100 winners. They will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
NEW DELHI: Over 1.36 crore students from across the country participated in the third edition of the Veer Gatha Project. They sent poems, paintings, essays, and videos to honour the acts of bravery and sacrifice of the personnel belonging to armed forces.
Project Veer Gatha, instituted under the gallantry awards portal (GAP) in 2021, aims at disseminating the details of acts of bravery of the gallantry awardees and the life stories of bravehearts among the students.
Under the initiative, schools across the country conducted various activities between July 28 to September 30. Each school uploaded four entries on the MyGov portal.
The ministry of defence through its field organisations and Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force organised virtual as well as face-to-face awareness programmes at schools to bring about awareness regarding the gallantry award winners of our country .
More than eight lakh students had participated in the Veer Gatha Project Edition-I and more than 19 lakh students participated in Veer Gatha Project Edition-II.

During the Veer Gatha Project (Edition-I) and (Edition-II), 25 winners were selected felicitated by the ministry of education and the ministry of defence. In this edition, 100 winners will be felicitated. Each winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
This year, in Veer Gatha Project Edition III, there will be four winners at district-level and eight winners at State and union territory-level. These students will be felicitated by respective District and state and UT administrations.
