NEW DELHI: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has added 20 research papers published by the learners and instructors of Great Learning, an ed-tech company for professional and higher education, in their global literature on the COVID-19 disease.
Through the global research on coronavirus disease, WHO intends to boost the research for developing new methods to fight the coronavirus pandemic by bringing together scientists and global health professionals. The global literature on coronavirus disease is regularly updated by the WHO. Great Learning claims that it is the first and only Indian ed-tech company whose learners’ capstone projects have been listed by WHO under global literature.

According to a statement from Great Learning, the featured research papers were written during the first and the second peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The papers include topics such as estimating Covid in India with machine learning models, detecting the severity of COVID-19 through chest X-rays, predicting hospital beds utilization for COVID-19 in Telangana, forecasting vaccination drive in India for herd immunity and effectiveness of lockdowns in Karnataka during the second wave, among others.
