NIIT University opens UG admissions 2026; JEE Main candidates exempt from NUAT

National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) University (NU) has announced applications for its undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2026. The application window covers engineering, management and interdisciplinary programmes, with a special provision for candidates who have appeared in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026.

Candidates can apply on the official website of NU, apply.niituniversity.in.

Applicants holding valid JEE Main 2026 scores are exempt from the NIIT University Aptitude Test (NUAT). Such candidates can apply directly and will be assessed through a faculty interaction process.

As per the statement, based on performance and merit, eligible students may also receive scholarships of up to 100 per cent.

BTech courses in AI, data science, cyber security

The official press release highlighted, admissions are open for several undergraduate programmes. These include BTech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data science, cyber security, computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, biotechnology, and robotics and automation.

The university is also offering management programmes such as a three-year Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), BBA in Artificial Intelligence(AI), BBA in business analytics, and a five-year dual degree integrated Master of Business Administration (iMBA) programme.

Commenting on the admissions philosophy, NU president Prakash Gopalan said the process focuses on “overall potential, curiosity and readiness to learn,” rather than relying solely on a single entrance test. He noted that faculty-led interactions help students make informed academic choices while aligning their interests with the university’s interdisciplinary learning environment.

The press release also underscored the university’s placement performance. The most recent graduating batch achieved 100 per cent placements, supported by an ecosystem of over 830 industry partners.

The university said its programmes aim to combine academic rigour, industry exposure and skill-based learning to prepare students for the future world of work.
