Free DownloadThe Indian Air Force (IAF) has started the registration process for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 2) 2026. Candidates can apply for AFCAT 2026 for Class-I officer posts in the flying branch, ground duty (technical) branch, and ground duty (non-technical) branch on the official website, afcat.cdac.in.

As per the schedule, the AFCAT 2 application form window will be closed on June 19. The AFCAT 2 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on August 8 at 104 exam centres across the country.
The AFCAT 2026 exam aims to fill a total of 379 vacancies in the department. To complete the AFCAT 2 registration process, candidates will be required to pay the AFCAT application fee of Rs 550 plus GST charges.

Candidates can choose up to five exam cities in order of preference from the list of 104 AFCAT exam centres.
AFCAT 2026 eligibility criteria
For the Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branch, candidates should have at least 60% marks in Physics and Maths and a 4-year engineering or technology degree from a recognised university.
For the Flying Branch, candidates must have a 3-year graduation degree with at least 60% marks and should have studied Maths and Physics in Class 12. Candidates with a BE/BTech degree with 60% marks are also eligible.
For the Technical Branch, candidates should have a 4-year engineering degree or must have passed Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India examination with at least 60% marks.
As per the AFCAT eligibility criteria, candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for AFCAT 2026. The age limit is 20–24 years for the Flying Branch and 20–26 years for the Ground Duty branches.

AFCAT exam pattern 2026
According to the AFCAT exam pattern, the exam includes four sections — General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. The exam will have 100 questions carrying a total of 300 marks.
Candidates will get 2 hours to complete the exam. Each correct answer carries 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
