AIBE XVI( 16) 2021 to be held tomorrow; Read exam day guidelines

NEW DELHI: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released a video on exam day strategies for candidates appearing in the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVI 2021 . The exam will be conducted tomorrow, October 31, 2021, in pen and paper format. Candidates will be given questions booklets and OMR sheets at the test centre.

The council has already released the admit cards for AIBE XVI (16) 2021 , on October 11, 2021. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging into the registration portal.

AIBE XVI (16) 2021 - Exam day instructions

Reporting time - The candidate should report to the designated exam centre at least one hour before the commencement of the exam.

Dress code - The council has not given any dress code instructions for appearing in AIBE XVI (16) 2021. So, candidates can wear any formal or informal dress during the examination.

Important things to carry

Candidates should have to carry the following items to their exam centre.

1. AIBE XVI (16) admit card (Mandatory)

2. A valid photo ID card (Mandatory)

3. Bare Acts

4. Bare Acts with short notes/comments

5. Pen and pencil

Candidates are also allowed to use photocopies of Bare Acts. Candidates can even use highlighted or underlined Bare Acts, however, they should not have anything written on them before the commencement of the exam.

Items not allowed during AIBE XVI (16) 2021

1. Books other than Bare Acts

2. Handwritten notes

3. Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, calculators etc.

4. Bare Acts with detailed comments

5. Manuals and digests

6. Any other form of study material

AIBE XVI (16) 2021 - Exam day tips

AIBE is a qualifying exam. Candidates are required to secure at least 40% marks (35% in the case of SC/ST candidates) to pass the exam. Candidates can check the exam day tips below.

Read the complete paper

Candidates are advised to read the complete paper first and answer all those questions which they can answer correctly.

Attempt all questions

Candidates should attempt all the questions asked in the examination. There is no negative marking.

Focus on major subjects

Constitutional Law, CrPC, CPC, Evidence Law, Family Law, IPC are some of the major sections from which around 50 or more questions are asked. Therefore, candidates are advised to focus on these sections while solving the paper.

Question Booklet and OMR sheet

Fill the OMR sheet carefully by entering the SET code, enrolment number, name and other details.

Using Bare Acts and time management

Candidates should be mindful of the limited time given for examination. Investing too much time in Bare Acts may affect the candidate’s overall performance. Therefore, candidates should use the Bare Acts smartly. It is advisable to carry only those Bare Acts which the candidates are already familiar with.

Use a pencil to mark in Bare Acts

Candidates should use a pencil to mark or highlight the sections in the Bare Acts. However, candidates must not write anything on the Bare Acts.

AIBE is conducted in 11 languages. Law graduates are required to pass the examination within two years of completing graduation. The answer key for AIBE XVI (16) 2021 will be released soon after the completion of the test. Those who qualify in the AIBE are given a Certificate of Practice by the BCI.
