AICTE, 1M1B Green Skills Academy launch 1 lakh green internships for students

Green Internships trains students to develop a sustainability mindset, ensuring proficiency in data intelligence for climate action.

NEW DELHI : All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with 1M1B Green Skills Academy to announce green internships for all the AICTE-affiliated colleges and universities. By the end of 2030, the 1M1B Green Internship programme aims to give opportunities to 100,000 students. The partnership is in support of Salesforce, the global leader in CRM. In the first year of the programme, 10,000 internships will be offered to students, the 1M1B statement said.

The internship programme was launched at the AICTE headquarters in New Delhi, today October 18. The event was held in the presence of professor TG Sitharam, chairman, AICTE, professor Anil SahasraBuddhe, chairman, NETF, Buddha Chandrasekhar, CCO at AICTE, Yudhisther Yadav, India Lead, partner success and ecosystem growth, Salesforce India, and Manav Subodh, founder, and chief Mentor, 1M1B including others.

“1M1B Green Skills Academy internship programme will engage with industry leaders to mentor and train the students on developing a sustainability mindset, ensuring proficiency in data intelligence for climate action,” the 1M1B statement added.

Students will learn through gamified assessments and data analysis of live projects focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, waste management, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction.

AICTE, 1M1B Green Internships

Under the internship programme, 1M1B Green Skills Academy aims to nurture climate talent by leveraging AI. Participants will work on transforming educational institutes into green campuses as part of their live project in line with NIRF rankings.

Students will conduct campus audits, recommend energy-saving solutions, design zero-waste systems and gain expertise in making organisations into being sustainable and NetZero, the 1M1B note adds.
