NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched ‘National Bioinformatics Online Hackathon’. As a part of the challenge, AICTE has invited full stackers to build community health information system applications and mobile responsive web for Indian states.
The hackathon is an effort to build apps and responsive web services for better handling of the coronavirus pandemic situation in the country by the centre and state government, it is also looking at providing improved co-ordination between states and centre.
As per the AICTE, central and state governments of India have traditionally relied upon fragmented technological adoption which has now become a nightmare to coordinate between multiple departments and multiple ministries with skeletal staff. The Hackathon is an effort to address some of these challenges.
Students and teachers belonging to the computer science field, any higher education institution, and polytechnics are eligible to apply for the Hackathon. People from start-ups and IT (Information Technology) field who are full stackers and strong in app and mobile-responsive web development within the tech stack limits are also eligible. The last date of application is April 26.
The Bioinformatics Hackathon will take place between April 27 to March 6. AICTE will also give cash prizes along with an award to best national and state full stackers.
