AIIMS foundation stone to be laid in Rewari soon: Haryana Chief Minister

NEW DELHI: The foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be laid in Rewari district in Haryana, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced today.

“The foundation stone of AIIMS will be laid in Rewari district, after all the formalities related to its construction have been completed. Along with this, Labor Court will be established, apart from this, the government has deposited the necessary amount to the concerned authority for a permanent solution to the problem of dirty water coming in Dharuhera,” Manohar Lal Khattar said in a social media post.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the medical institute once the construction is completed.

Meanwhile, AIIMS Bathinda inaugurated a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on November 25. The first batch at the AIIMS Bathinda centre of excellence will include 31 nurses and will be trained as respiratory therapists.

In other news, the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) announced to call for nationwide withdrawal of Out Patient Department (OPD) services from Saturday, November 27, onwards due to repeated delays and postponement of National Eligibility Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2021 due to pleas filed in the Supreme Court challenging 27% and 10% quota to OBC and EWS categories. The next Supreme Court hearing is scheduled for January 6, 2022.

NEET PG counselling 2021 registration for the first round was supposed to commence from October 25, however, candidates were informed by MCC that the counselling will start only after the clarification is sought over reservation from the top court.

On November 25, the Centre told the top court that it has decided to review Rs 8 lakh criteria for determining EWS category in NEET All India Quota (AIQ) and will come up with a fresh decision within four weeks.
