BITS Design School opens admissions for BDes programme; apply by January 31

NEW DELHI: BITS Design School (BITSDES) has begun the application process for the second cohort of its four-year Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme. Eligible candidates seeking admission to the BDes programme can fill out the application form by January 31, 2025, through the official website, bitsdesign.edu.in.
The programme offers five design pathways including physical product design, digital product design (UX/UI), design research and insights, experience design, and visual design. “BITS Design School bridges theory with practice, with deep industry integration and structured mentorship by design professionals right from the first year of the programme,” the official press release read.
To get admission into the BITS Design Programme 2025, candidates will have to provide scores from either the National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT) Prelims, Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED), or the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT).
BITS Design Admission 2025: Important dates
The BITSDAT test is scheduled to be held from March 31 and April 5, 2025. The institute will issue the long list, based on test scores, by April 14, 2025. After this, a portfolio evaluation round will be conducted from April 21 to April 28, 2025, with online interviews scheduled between May 2 and May 12, 2025.

BITS Design Programme 2025: Scholarships
BITS Design School offers three types of scholarships including merit and means-based scholarships, academic merit scholarships, and diversity scholarships.
The merit and means-based scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver of up to 90% and will be awarded each year of the four-year programme. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student's annual family income must not exceed Rs 18,00,000.
As per the institute, the academic merit scholarship recognises and supports high-performing students who have shown a commitment to design education and a desire for improvement. The scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and will be awarded each year of the four-year design programme.
The diversity scholarship will be awarded to third-gender students, students from underrepresented regions, and students with physical disabilities. This scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver of up to 75% and will be awarded each year of the four-year design programme, subject to specific terms.
