CAT 2024 Exam Pattern Changes: 68 questions, repetitions, no para jumbles
CAT slot 1 exam 2024 was easier compared to slot 2, as per the students' reaction. IIM Calcutta has introduced some changes in the exam pattern this year.

NEW DELHI: The Common Admission Test (CAT 2024) question paper has been changed for this year, as per students who appeared in CAT slot 1 and slot 2 exams. Around 3.29 lakh candidates will be appearing in the CAT exam 2024 today in three sessions. The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has concluded slot 1 and 2 exams and the CAT slot 3 will commence at 4.30 pm and conclude at 6.30 pm.
In another change in test pattern, the CAT 2024 Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section had a total of 22 questions - a total of 5 sets, three sets with 4 questions and 2 sets with 5 questions each. Additionally, there were no parajumble questions asked in CAT slot 1 exam.
Students found Quantitative Aptitude (QA) comparatively easier despite being a paper set by IIM Calcutta and increasing the total questions to 68. Major change in CAT exam 2024 was that there were no parajumble questions in the verbal ability section, Sumit Singh Gandhi, CEO of Founder CATKing said in the CAT slot 1 exam review.

Based on the CAT slot 1 exam analysis , the question paper was easy compared to last year and students who studied the Quant formula-based questions found the CAT QA section easier. As per the CAT slot 2 exam analysis , all the sections - VARC, DILR, and QA - were lengthier and was moderate to tough in difficulty level.
