CAT 2024 slot 1 easy to moderate, quant tricky; section-wise exam analysis, candidate reactions

Use NowNEW DELHI : The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 slot 1 was easy to moderate, according to the candidates’ reactions on CAT slot 1 2024. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta conducted CAT 2024 slot 1 exam from 8:30 am to 10:30 am today, November 24. CAT 2024 live updates .
CAT 2024 question paper comprised 66 questions divided into three sections – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Candidates were given 40 minutes to attempt each section.
Khushi, a CAT 2024 candidate, said the questions were difficult this year. "Quant seemed the most difficult. However, VARC questions were easier."
Aman Chugh, a repeater, found this year’s CAT exam easy as compared to the previous years’ papers. He said he did well in the CAT 2024 slot 1. "I have already appeared for the CAT exam in 2022 and this year I feel I have done better. Questions were not very difficult except the Quant section, which according to me was a bit tricky. VARC and data interpretation were easier." The candidate said he is expecting something between a 70 to 80 percentile and is aiming for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and IIM Rohtak.

Hemank, from Rohtak, said: "The Quant section was a bit difficult. But apart from that the exam went pretty well. VARC didnt have para jumbles this year." When asked about his expectations, Hemank, who is also taking the NMAT exam, said he is hoping for the best.
Contrary to the common CAT slot 1 review today, two candidates said that the VARC section was difficult this time compared to the previous years. "Other than that, the exam went well. DILR and Quant were easier this year. The number of quant questions were also 22 this year", they said.
