CBSE answers FAQs on Class 10, 12 term 1 exam evaluation, marks tabulation

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting CBSE Class 10 term 1 exams for major subjects from November 30 and CBSE Class 12 term 1 exam from December 1. Based on queries received from the schools, the board has issued a list of answers to the frequently asked questions.

CBSE board exams 2021 for the minor subjects have already begun. Class 12 term 1 exams for minor subjects started on November 16 whereas Class 10 term 1 exams started on November 17.

CBSE board term 1 exam 2021 will be held for a duration of 90 minutes and will be based on multiple-choice questions. Students have to attempt the questions in OMR sheets. They must note that the reading time will be20 minutes instead of 15 minutes. Students can check the CBSE Class 10 term 1 exam 2021 date sheet here .

The board has released a list of answers for CBSE term 1 board exam 2021 FAQs. Here are some selected questions.

How many OMRs are re-evaluated by the coordinator?

20% of the total OMRs are to be re-checked by the coordinators.

Which colour pen should be used by students and teachers?

Students can use black or blue ballpoint pens for CBSE term 1 examination 2021 and all other officials including invigilators, coordinators have to use red ball point pens only.

In case students attempt extra questions for example out of 60 only 50 questions are to be attempted and students have attempted all 60 questions. How will the teacher evaluate?

Evaluators will have to consider questions from no 1 to 50 or the number of questions that are to be attempted. The extra attempts by students (that is question no 51 to 60 or additional questions answered) will not be considered.

There are two sections in a question paper. Section A and Section B each have 30 questions and 20 questions are to be attempted by the students. If any student has covered 20 questions in the first section and 24 questions in the next section. How will be they evaluated?

Say, in the first section a student attempted 18 questions correctly and 2 were wrong and in the second section 24 questions were attempted and only 15 were correct. Then the evaluator will consider 18 correct questions from the first section and will not check the extra 4 questions from the second section and will consider only 15 correct responses. This means -- 18+15=33.

The CBSE also issued exam norms for private candidates. As per the notice, the board will be conducting Class 12 exams for private candidates along with the CBSE term-2 board examination in March-April 2022. Students are required to submit the exam form from December 2 at cbse.nic.in.
