CDS 1 notification for 2019 released; apply before November 26

NEW DELHI, October 31: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification along with the application form of Combined Defence Services (CDS 1) 2019 exam on October 31, 2018. The last day to apply for CDS 1 is November 26, 2018 (6:00 pm). Candidates who are between 20 to 24 years and have completed or appearing in the final year of graduation can apply for CDS 1 exam.

To fill the application form of CDS 1 exam, candidates need to visit the official page of UPSC. CDS 1 application form has 2 parts – Part 1 and 2. Part 1 of the application form involves registration and filling up of basic details, while in Part 2, candidates have to upload their scanned photograph (3KB to 40KB) and signature (1KB to 40KB), select the exam centres, select the mode of payment, and tick the declaration check-box.
Without the fee payment, th e application form can not be completed. Candidates can pay the application fee either through offline mode (SBI Challan) or online using Visa/Debit/Credit card and Net Banking. Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories have to pay Rs. 200 as the application fee, while SC/ST candidates and females (of all categories) need not to pay any fee, as they are exempted from fee payment.
Post the application submission, the candidates are advised to keep a print copy of the submitted application form for further reference. It must be noted that only those candidates will be issued the admit card of the written exam whose application forms have been accepted by the authority. UPSC will release the facility to withdraw the application form for the candidates who have successfully filled the application form. Candidates can withdraw their application form from December 3 to 10, 2018.
For the year 2019, the examination authority has declared as many as 417 vacancies for CDS 1 for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in three defence services - Navy, Air Force, Army and Officers Training Academy. The written exam of CDS 1 exam will be conducted on February 3, 2019. However, UPSC has not announced the dates for the SSB interview, which is the final stage for the recruitment.
