CLAT 2018: NUALS publishes final answer key even as SC orders NLU to accept test takers’ representations

NEW DELHI, MAY 26: The National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi (NUALS) today has published the final answer key of CLAT 2018, as per the schedule. The candidates were earlier asked to file their objections to the discrepant questions or answer options by May 18, 2018. After considering the test takers’ objection, the Kochi NLU has published the CLAT answer key even as the Supreme Court on May 25, 2018, has ordered the NLU to accept the representations of the test takers.

The CLAT 2018 examinees had earlier filed a petition in the apex court against the NUALS Kochi and CLAT Core Committee on account of technical glitches faced on the 13 ^th May online paper.

NUALS Kochi has announced the final and the amended answer key of CLAT 2018 in online mode which is available at the individual test taker’s Common Law Admission Test login account.

How to check the amended answer key?

The test takers can follow the given procedure to check the CLAT 2018 answer key–

• Visit the official website
• Click on the ‘Amended Answer Key’ tab on the official page
• Enter ‘Registration Number’
• Enter ‘Password’
• Enter ‘Captcha Code’
• Click on ‘Login’ button
• Download the final/amended answer key of CLAT 2018

What next?

Following the orders of the Supreme Court, NUALS is accepting the representations from candidates related to CLAT 2018 technical glitches until 1900 hours of May 27.

The test takers need to submit their representations to the CLAT 2018 office by emailing them to representations@clat.ac.in.

According to the official notification published by the Kochi NLU regarding ‘CLAT 2018 Representations’, the sent emails should also mention Roll Number, Programme, Name and Mobile Number of the test takers.

Based on the representations sent to the NUALS till May 27, 2018 (7:00 pm), the CLAT 2018 Grievance Committee Forum will send their recommendations to the Supreme Court and NUALS by May 30, 2018.

What happened so far?

The NUALS had constituted a Grievance Redressal Committee to deal with the complaints of the test takers against the Common Law Admission Test. This is a two-member committee of Retired Kerala High Court Judge, Justice MR Hariharan Nair and Head of Computer Science Department of Cochin University, Dr Santosh Kumar G.

CLAT 2018 was conducted on May 13 by NUALS Kochi heading the 19-NLU Core Committee. The online examination was marred by the alleged technical glitches at centres across India, following which the test takers are seeking justice in the courts against the ‘misconduct’ of CLAT 2018.

A number of petitions calling for the re-conduct of the Common Law Admission test have been filed in the High Courts of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

The Common Law Admission Test is the national level law exam for admissions to 2300 undergraduate seats on offer in the participating 19 NLUs.
