Coronavirus: Board exams postponed in more states

NEW DELHI: The state governments of Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have postponed board exams scheduled to be held in the month of March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand postponed all board exams for Classes 10 and 12, while Tamil Nadu and West Bengal postponed exams for Classes 11 and 12.
Himachal Pradesh School Education Board put out a notice on Saturday postponing all Class 10 and 12 board exams that were scheduled to be held on Monday, February 23.
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education announced that board exams for Classes 11 and 12 are postponed till after April 15.
The exams were scheduled to happen on March 23,25 and 27. The Class 10 board exams were already completed in the month of February.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand School Education Department announced that all exams for Classes 10 and 12 scheduled on March 23,24 and 25 are rescheduled till further notice, India Today reported.
On the same day, Tamil Nadu government announced the suspension of Class 10 board exams scheduled to be held between March 27 and April 13, the Times of India reported. New dates are yet to be announced.
However, exams for Classes 11 and 12 will continue per schedule. Both Classes have their last exams this week. Class 12 exams will end on March 24 while Class 11 exams will end on March 26.
States like Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Telangana had already suspended board exams.
