Download NowNEW DELHI: The All India Bar Examination department will remain closed till May 17, which means, there will be no updates on AIBE 15 examination as long as the current phase of lockdown is in operation. A notification is given on the official website of AIBE which says, “department for All India Bar Examination will be closed till 17th May 2020 due to extension of the nationwide lockdown as a preventive measure for COVID-19”.
Further, the regular helpline numbers 011-49225022/23 will also remain closed during this period. In case of any emergency, the candidates can call on 9804580458 for any queries.
AIBE 2020 - Bar Council of India (BCI) conducts AIBE every year. Generally, the exam is conducted once or twice in a year. So far, there have been no updates on AIBE 15 and it is expected that the exam will be conducted only once in this year. Being a mandatory exam for becoming a lawyer in India, lakhs of the law graduates are waiting for the BCI to conduct the exam or give any updates on when and how the exam will be conducted.
It may be noted that those who clear AIBE are awarded the Certificate of Practice (CoP) by BCI, which is a mandatory certificate for anyone who wants to practice law in a court of law in India. The candidates are tested for their knowledge of the law and analytical abilities. The exam will be conducted in 11 different languages and will include questions from various subjects of law
