CTET January 2024 registration ends tomorrow at ctet.nic.in; fee, qualifying marks

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the extended registration process for the CTET January 2024 exam tomorrow on the official website, ctet.nic.in. The CBSE has extended the registration deadline from November 27 to December 1.

The CBSE will conduct two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 – under the CTET January 2024. Paper 1 will be held for teaching posts in Classes 1 to 5 while CTET January 2024 Paper 2 will be held for teachers applying for jobs in Classes 6 to 8.

Candidates will have to submit an application fee of Rs 1,000 for any of the papers while those applying for both the papers will have to pay Rs 1,200 as registration fee. However, differently-abled candidates and those belonging from SC and ST categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both the papers.

CTET qualifying marks

Candidates will have to secure 60% marks or more to clear the CTET exam will be considered as TET pass. However, school managements (Government, local bodies, government aided and unaided) may give concessions in qualifying marks to candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled person and other categories in accordance with their extant reservation policy.

CTET 2024 applicability

Candidates clearing the CTET January 2024 will be eligible to apply for teaching jobs in schools operated by the union government such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Noavodayas Vidyalya, Central Tibetan Schools and others. The test score will also be applicable to schools under the administrative control of union territories of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep and Delhi.

CTET score can also be used by unaided private, state government and local bodies schools for their recruitment process.

CTET January 2024 validity period

The validity period of CTET qualifying candidates for appointment will be for lifetime. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his or her core.
