NEW DELHI: University of Delhi vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh during the academic council meeting informed that the DU East Delhi campus will be set up in Surajmal Vihar and a new college of DU will be established in Najafgarh.

During the 1,015th academic council meeting, syllabus for fourth, fifth and sixth semesters of various departments and DU colleges in line with Undergraduate Curriculum Framework-2022 (UGCF-2022) was also approved.

Changes in practical marks of BHMS

Based on the recommendation of the Faculty of Homeopathic Medicine in their meeting held on July 5, a partial amendment in the ordinance of BHMS-2018 was also accepted by the academic council. Changes were made in the distribution of practical marks in the fourth professional exam. The amendment is applicable for those students who were admitted for BHMS degree course from the academic session 2019-2020.

As per the modification, now its Part A (One Long Case) will have 40 marks instead of 20, Part B (One Short Case) will have 20 marks as before, Part C (Practical Records, Case Records, Journal) will have 15 marks instead of 30, Part D (Identification of Specimen (X-Ray, ECG etc.) will carry 25 marks instead of 30 and Part E (Viva (Oral)) will carry 100 marks as before.

Separate answer sheet in BUMS

Based on the recommendation of the Faculty of Ayurveda and Unani Medicine in their meeting held on July 4, changes have been made regarding answering the question papers.

“According to the earlier decision, answers to all the parts of the question paper were to be given in a single answer sheet, whereas now after the amendment, answers to all the parts of the question paper will have to be given in a separate answer sheet. This decision will be applicable for the students admitted for the academic session 2021-22 and thereafter,” the university informed.

During the meeting the syllabi of semester- IV, V and VI under Faculty of Science in the various departments and colleges based on Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 implemented from the academic session 2022- 2023 was approved as accepted with minor modifications. The department include:

Semester-VI for the Department of Computer Science under the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences.

Semester-VI syllabus under Cluster Innovation Center

Semester-V and VI syllabus for School of Journalism.

Syllabus of Semester-III, IV, V and VI of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities

Moreover, the council approved Self-learning Material (SLM) of courses as per UGCF 2022 based on the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) for students of School of Open Learning under Department of Distance and Continuing Education (SOL/COL).

Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC)

After discussion in the academic council meeting, approval was given to the curriculum of Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) in many departments of the Faculty of Arts. These courses of AEC will be implemented on the basis of UGCF-2022 in the third and fourth semester in the Departments of MIL & LS, Sanskrit, Bengali, Punjabi, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu.
