NEW DELHI:Students of Delhi University have been posting against the university’s decision to keep the option of online exams open by posting on social media using the #DUAgainstOnlineExams hashtag. They hope to push the administration to cancel the proposed online examination.
Delhi University on Thursday said that it may conduct an open book examination for final year or semester students in case the COVID-19 threat persists till July 1. Many students and various teachers’ bodies have also opposed the university’s decision to keep open book tests as an alternative.
Students on social media expressed their disappointment with the decision by pointing out to the various difficulties such as the lack of books and references, shoddy internet connectivity that they have been encountering.
The students also pointed out that only a small percentage of students could attend online classes which began from March 13 as the university closed amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
Here we have compiled some of the students' tweets regarding the issue. Students pointed out that the mid-semester break was initially supposed to be for one week which meant that most students did not take the necessary resources with them.

Mid Sem break started from 9th of March. And it was for mere 1 week. Students went home leaving their books and notes in Delhi itself. And then lockdown was announced.

If Delhi University is of the opinion that the "online classes" were the medium of teaching, DU should bring out the exact list of online classes held for each subject for each college, and the number of students who could attend all the classes entirely.#DUAgainstOnlineExams pic.twitter.com/MB77VZrqYa
