NEW DELHI: FIITJEE, has denied allegations of mismanagement and clarified that recent centre closures were not a corporate decision but result of 'overnight desertion' of the center by managing partners and their teams. In a detailed official statement, the institute assured students and parents that it remains committed to resolving the disruptions and delivering quality education.
The chaos starts after FIITJEE's Delhi NCR centres abruptly shut down, leaving students and parents in shock. Allegations of mismanagement and fraudulent practices have been reported, and several complaints have been lodged against FIITJEE.
According to a PTI report, the FIITJEE owner and 11 others have been booked on a complaint by the parents of the coaching institute's students after several of its centres shut down in Delhi-NCR. FIITJEE, however, states "FIITJEE has not closed any centre as part of its own decision. Overnight desertion of the centre by the Centre Managing Partner along with the entire team suddenly overnight is the only reason for this force majeure type of condition.''
FIITJEE statement on centre closures and allegations
FIITJEE has clarified the following points in regarding recent allegations and abrupt centre closures
Reason for FIITJEE centre closure
FIITJEE clarified that it has not voluntarily shut down any centre. The closures occurred due to the sudden desertion of the centre by managing partners and their teams at certain locations. The institute described the situation as a ‘force majeure’ and assured that efforts are underway to restore operations within a reasonable time.
‘Malicious prosecutions’ and legal actions
FIITJEE alleged that the complaints and criminal cases filed against it are part of a larger conspiracy from competitors with ‘vested interests’. The institute's legal team is actively looking at these cases and is also preparing to file counter-claims against unfair trade practices.
As per PTI report, FIRs have been registered against two FIITJEE centres in Noida and Ghaziabad.
The FIITJEE official statement read, "This entire story is part of a criminal conspiracy which has been hatched by peoplewith vested interests and very soon through detailed investigation, the truth will emerge. We are also going to take strict legal action against the unfair trade practices adopted by our competitors before civil and criminal courts. "
Commitment to students
Addressing the concerns of students and parents, FIITJEE reiterated its commitment in ensuring quality education. FIITJEE has also mentioned its history of producing good results in JEE, NTSE, and Olympiad exams over the past 28 years.
“We urge every student to stay confident and not fall for any misleading tactics. When students join, they join FIITJEE for its systems & legacy and not any particular teacher(s). We would like to ensure that their studies will continue in such a manner that they will perform at their optimum best,” read the official statement.
Centre-level operational decisions
FIITJEE highlighted that each centre operates under the exclusive discretion of managing partners, who are responsible for profit and loss, administration, and operational decisions. The corporate office in Delhi provides support based on the Managing Partners’ and strategies.
The FIITJEE official statement read, "The Corporate Office at Delhi only follows the advice of the Managing Partners in order to grow the business and the concerned officials of FIITJEE Corporate Delhi used to provide them with complete support as per their requisitions and instructions based on their projection for growth of business of their respective centres."
Financial challenges at FIITJEE
The institute revealed that financial challenges emerged in January 2024 due to ‘mismanagement and exploitation’ by some Managing Partners. Despite warnings and strategies outlined by the corporate team, including Zoom meetings and written communications, several Managing Partners failed to take corrective action. As per FIITJEE officials, this resulted in further financial strain, leading to the current turmoil.
“The situation was exploited by some managing partners to gain unfair advantage. They, rather than working on proper optimisation, halted admissions and disrupted regular processes,” claims FIITJEE.
