FMGE 2026 eligibility certificate application begins from September 1; exam date soon

The National Medical Commission (NMC) will open the applications for the eligibility certificate (EC) to apply for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2026 on September 1 at 10 am. Candidates appearing for the FMGE screening test will be able to apply for the compulsory certificate through the official website at application.nmc.org.

The National Board of Examination for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will schedule the FMGE screening test 2026 in the upcoming months, the NMC said in an official notification.

According to the rules, candidates must possess the eligibility certificate issued by the NMC to apply for the FMGE 2026 screening test. The commission will close the FMGE 2026 screening test eligibility certificate online application on September 30 at 6 pm.

NMC has advised candidates who have not obtained the certificate to apply through its online portal and carefully verify all details before submission.

NMC guidelines to apply for FMGE 2026 eligibility certificate

The commission has also cautioned candidates against mistakes in applications and advised them to keep their documents ready and provide active mobile numbers.

“It is also informed that the applicants can make enquiries about status of the Eligibility application at: eligibility.regn@nmc.org.in and eligibility@nmc.org.in,” the notice reads.

The commission has issued guidelines for candidates applying for the eligibility certificate for the FMGE 2026 screening test.

Candidates are also advised to keep their documents handy before filling an application for EC, and it would be ideal if the entries to be made are verified regarding entries in the original documents.

They should also provide their active mobile numbers so that alerts or deficiencies could reach them directly for correction in a timely manner, the rules read.

Once the required correction is conveyed, the mistake should be rectified by the candidate as soon as possible to avoid last minute rush.

“Candidates shall scrupulously check entries and ensure conformity with the details in the original documents to ensure quick processing/approval of applications if otherwise eligible,” as per the guidelines.
