IIT Madras extends GATE 2027 registration last date without late fee

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has extended the registration deadline for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2027) without a late fee payment. Candidates can apply for GATE 2027 on the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in till October 5. GATE 2027 Live Updates

IIT Madras will hold GATE 2027 on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 for 30 subjects across the country. As per the schedule, GATE 2027 results will be announced on March 19.

GATE 2027 registration fee for the regular period is Rs 1,000 per test paper for female, SC, ST, and PwD applicants, and Rs 2,000 per paper for all other applicants, including foreign nationals.

GATE 2027: Changes this year

For the first time, filling out the GATE 2027 application form requires the use of DigiLocker. The DigiLocker-based registration uses facial authentication to strengthen exam security. Candidates have to create or update their verified DigiLocker account before completing the GATE 2027 application process.

IIT Madras has introduced a new robotics and automation paper . Another significant change is that the textile engineering and fibre science (TF) paper has been merged as a sectional paper under engineering sciences (XE). Candidates can appear for either one or two papers from the approved combinations of the subjects. All question papers will be available only in English medium.

GATE entrance exam is held for admission to MTech and PhD courses at IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc), and recruitment to PSUs.
