NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has declared the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 cut-offs and results today, March 19. The IIT Roorkee has also announced the category-wise GATE 2025 cut-offs for all 30 papers. The GATE 2025 cut-offs have increased for civil engineering, chemical engineering and data science and artificial intelligence engineering compared to the previous year.

The GATE 2025 exam was held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. The GATE 2025 was conducted in two sessions - from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The GATE 2025 answer key and response sheet were out on February 27.

GATE 2025 Cutoffs: Determining factors

The GATE 2025 cutoffs will be determined by several factors, including:

  • Total number of applicants – Higher participation leads to increased competition and higher cut-offs.
  • Difficulty level of GATE 2025– A tougher paper results in lower cut-offs, and easier papers have higher cut-offs.
  • Number of available seats, job openings – The number of MTech seats and PSU recruitment vacancies affects the cut-offs.
  • Previous years' cutoff trends – Past cutoff data serve as a benchmark for determining the expected range.
  • Performance of candidates – The overall scores obtained by candidates also influence the qualifying marks.
  • Reservation policies – Cut-offs vary based on category-wise reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates.
