Govt approves 7th Pay revised pension for retired faculty, non-teaching staff of Central Universities, Colleges

NEW DELHI, JUNE 11: The Government of India has revised the pension of retired faculty members and non-teaching staff of Central Universities and Colleges as per the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The Government move is likely to benefit around 25,000 pensioners of present central university and the public Deemed-to-be-Universities. The cost of this move is expected to be around Rs. 6000 to Rs.18000.
The revision of pension will also benefit the retired staff of state universities where 7th Pay Commission has been approved. Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar said the government decision will bring benefits to about 8 lakh teachers. "This move of govt will benefit approx 8 lakh teachers & 15 lakh non –teaching staff who retired from State Public Universities & affiliated colleges, who wish to adopt or have adopted Pay Scales prescribed for Central Universities,” he tweeted.
