HP Takniki Shiksha Board updates PAT and LEET 2026 exam dates, eligibility criteria and application schedule due to PRI polls
The Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) has revised the schedule for Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2026 and Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) 2026 for the academic session 2026-27. This decision has been taken in view of the PRI elections.
Candidates can apply on the official website of HPTEB at hptechboard.com. The application fee for both the tests can be paid through net banking, credit card, or debit card. Candidates belonging to the general category are required to pay Rs 750, while applicants from SC, ST, and OBC categories need to pay Rs 500.
PAT is conducted for admission to the first year of diploma engineering courses whereas LEET is conducted for direct admission to the second year (3rd semester) of diploma engineering courses.

HPTSB PAT and LEET 2026: Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria for PAT and LEET 2026 is given below:
- PAT: Candidates must have passed Class 10 or its equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 35 per cent marks. The eligibility criteria are prescribed as per AICTE/COA norms. Students who have appeared or are going to appear for the matriculation examination in 2026 are also eligible.

- LEET: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subjects, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Entrepreneurship, as specified under AICTE norms. Alternatively, candidates who have completed Class 10 along with a two-year ITI programme under NCVT, SCVT, or COE in the engineering stream are also eligible. Candidates appearing or expected to appear in the 10+2 or NCVT/SCVT/COE examinations in 2026 may also apply provisionally for the entrance test.
However, the eligibility for both the exams will be verified during the counselling process by the central admission selection committee.
