IAF Agniveervayu registration ends today; eligibility criteria, medical standards

NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) will close the registration window for Agniveervayu recruitment, today. Eligible candidates can apply online for IAF Agniveervayu recruitment 2024 through the official website, agnipathvayu.cdac.in. The Agniveervayu exam is scheduled to be held from March 17 onwards.
As per the official notice, only unmarried male and female candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu and they should undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years. Candidates from all the categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 550 to fill out the IAF Agniveervayu registration form.
IAF Agniveer Recruitment 2024: Eligibility criteria
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for the IAF Agniveer examination below.
- Candidates born between January 2, 2004, and July 2, 2007, are eligible to fill out the IAF Agniveervayu registration form. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment should be 21 years.
- Candidates should have passed the intermediate or Class 12 equivalent examination with maths, physics and English from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates who have passed three three-year diploma courses in mechanical, electrical, electronics, automobile, computer science, instrumentation technology, and information technology engineering from a recognised polytechnic institute with 50% marks can apply.
- Candidates who have passed two years of vocational courses with non-vocational subjects with 50% marks in aggregate can also fill out the application form.

Medical Standards
General medical standards for Agniveervayu male and female candidates are given below.
- Height: Male candidates should be at least 152.5 cm tall, while female applicants should be 152 cm tall
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Chest dimension: The minimum chest circumference for male candidates is 77 cm, with a chest expansion of at least 5 cm. Female applicants should have a well-proportioned and formed chest wall, with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cm.
- Hearing: The candidate should have normal hearing, which means being able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 metres using each ear separately.
- Eyesight: Visual acuity should be 6/12 in each eye and correctable to 6/6. The maximum refractive error for hypermetropia is +2.0D and myopia is 1D, with ± 0.50 D astigmatism for both types.
