IGNOU extends deadline for registration to ODL programmes to September 15

IGNOU July 2025 Admissions: Eligible candidates can apply for ODL programmes through the official websites at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in and ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for registration to Online and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes to September 15. Eligible candidates can now be able to apply for various courses through the IGNOU’s official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
Concerned candidates can also apply for IGNOU programmes through the online courses portal at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in. Earlier, the last date to register for the IGNOU programmes for the July 2025 admission cycle was August 31.
Notably, the candidates applying for the online and distance education must note that the DEB ID is mandatory for submission of application, as per the official website of IGNOU.
They should first create their DEB ID and then proceed with the application process, the notice reads.

IGNOU 2025: Registration fee
The non-refundable application fee is Rs 2,000 for all category candidates. This will be deducted from the fee paid in case the request for cancellation is received after the confirmation of admission.
“In case a student has opted for a soft copy of the study material, the fee paid will be refunded after deducting the registration fee only, “ the official notification reads.
Further, if a request for cancellation is received from a student who has availed fee exemption and paid only the registration fee and development fee, only the development fee will be refunded, the notice reads.
“No Refund of fee will be admissible after 60 days of the closing date of the admissions,” it added.
IGNOU July 2025 Session: Guidelines to submit application form
Concerned candidates can check the following steps, as per the IGNOU norms to register for the ODL programmes for the July 2025 admissions.
- Go to the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Click on the available programme tab on the homepage.
- Select your preferred programme.
- Download the common prospectus.
- Then click on the new registration icon on the applicant login page.
- Fill all the required information asked in the form including email, phone number, address, among others.
- Write a new username as per the given instructions.
- Note your login details for further use.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, education qualifications, experience certificate if any, category certificate if applicable.
- Pay the admission fee using credit or debit card, net banking.
- Press submit and your application will be registered.
