IGNOU to issue academic certificates of candidates through DigiLocker app

The Indira Gandhi National Open University will conduct the 37th convocation ceremony on February 20.
NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will issue academic certificates of candidates on DigiLocker. Students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be able to access their certificate on the official application that can be downloaded here, digilocker.gov.in/installapp.
The DigiLocker, in a tweet, asked the students to create an account to swiftly access the degree on convocation day. “Sign up now for a streamlined process, making your academic achievements easily and conveniently accessible,” it added. IGNOU will host the 37th convocation on February 20 at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Centre.
Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar has accepted our invitation to be the chief guest for the convocation ceremony. He will preside over the ceremony and deliver the convocation address, adding an extra layer of significance to the event, the IGNOU said.
Steps to download DigiLocker app
Candidates can follow these steps to download DigiLocker app:
- Login to DigiLocker App
- Select education category
- Search for the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
- Click on certificate
- Fill required details and get document.

In the 36th IGNOU convocation ceremony, the university distributed 2,79,917 degrees, diplomas, and certificates in digital form through blockchain technology. The step was taken for blockchain-supported degree distribution degrees to ensure faster submission and authentication of degrees through DigiLocker.
President Droupadi Murmu, in her keynote address, said, “"I am happy to note that there are 55 per cent girl students among those who received their degrees, certificates and diplomas at the university. Girl students account for more than half of the students who have received gold medals today."
