IIT Bombay Techfest 2024 from today; G1 humanoid robot from China at exhibition

The 3-day annual science fest theme is 'Sustainnovative Sentience' focuses on sustainable and innovative solutions through competitions, exhibitions, and other activities.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will commence the 28th edition of Techfest, Asia’s largest science and technology festival from today, December 17. The theme of the event is 'Sustainnovative Sentience', will continue till December 19. The IIT Bombay Techfest 2024 focuses on sustainable and innovative solutions through competitions, exhibitions, and other activities.
The inaugural day will feature a ceremony, a keynote lecture by Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, and the International Robowars.
The tech-innovations on display at the exhibitions will include the Unitree G1 humanoid bot from China, Robo DJ from Japan among other international line-ups. Whereas, tech-connect will feature an impressive array of exhibits from various academic units, including working models, demos, and products that underscore institute’s technological advancements.
Humanoid robot main attraction of Techfest 2024
Unitree G1, a humanoid robot which is a powerful fusion of artificial intelligence and sustainability projects, will be the main attraction of Techfest 2024. This advanced humanoid robot from China, renowned for its ability to interact with humans, will visit India for the first time. Apart from this, various technological innovations, domestic and international, will be part of the festival.

Some of the common attractions of the Techfest, including competitions such as Robowars, Drone Show. E-Sports tournaments among others will continue this year too along with Technoholix which assures a unique entertainment to the audience with use of technology.
The second day will include a keynote address by Velumani Arokiaswamy, Founder of Thyrocare. Finals of Robowars and the continuation of exhibits will take place. The evening will include Technoholix, a series of performances blending technology and entertainment.
The third day will host the finales of major competitions, a closing keynote by ISRO scientist A Rajarajan, and a drone show.
