IIT Delhi's closing ranks in computer science and engineering have fallen significantly for the open category, making it easy for students to grab a seat at the country’s top engineering institute, the JoSAA data over the past four years reveals.

The closing rank for IIT Delhi CSE under the open gender-neutral category fell by 10 points, from 116 to 126, for the academic year 2025-26.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the counselling process for admissions to top IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) based on JEE Advanced and JEE Mains scores.
Last year, JoSAA conducted six rounds for counselling for engineering admissions.

IIT Delhi Admission: Most opted BTech course
According to the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) Report 2025, CSE remained the most preferred BTech programme among aspirants, with 27,697 students choosing it, followed by electrical engineering with 23,503 students.

JEE Advanced: IIT Delhi CSE cutoffs over the past years
According to JoSAA counselling closing rank data from the past four years, IIT Delhi CSE recorded its highest cutoff in 2022, making it the most competitive admission season in recent years.

JEE Advanced Result 2026
IIT Roorkee conducted the JEE Advanced 2026 on May 17, and the provisional answer keys were issued on May 26 on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. IIT Roorkee will announce the JEE Advanced 2026 result on June 1 and also issue the final answer key.
