IIT Madras, VyVoxel International to launch AR, VR programming course; register by March 31

NEW DELHI: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is partnering with VyVoxel, an international AR, VR company, to offer a course on Augmented Reality Virtual Reality (AR, VR) programming for students. The course will be offered online for a duration of 60 hours. The last date to apply for IIT Madras AR, VR programme is March 31, 2024.

The first batch of this programme will commence on April 1, 2024. There won't be any limits on the number of students enrolled to each batch because the course will be taught online.

Balamurali Shankar, chief knowledge officer, Digital Skills Academy, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies, said, “AR and VR as a field are at a tipping point with hardware, software and technology adoption reaching critical mass. It is imperative now to create talent pools that can service industry needs in the coming years. It is an exciting area growing exponentially with applications in various industries and we are elated to be able to partner with VyVoxel in bringing this course to students.”

Fundamentals of virtual reality to be covered

The course covers the fundamentals of virtual reality programming and interaction, including its applications in manufacturing, field service, training, and logistics. The programme also covers C# programming, user interface design, and exposure to applications including healthcare, retail, e-commerce, branding and product launches, architecture, and logistics.

In order to prepare them for this fascinating subject, students also have the opportunity to work on projects at the industry level. Professionals in AR and VR with extensive project experience and a strong grasp of market demands have created the course.

Under this programme, students learn how to create, write, and release augmented reality and virtual reality applications for tablets, headsets, and mobile devices running Android and iOS.
