IIT Palakkad Tech IHub Foundation launches initiative to train 2 million youth by 2030

IPTIF’s Skill Development Ready Centers will be established in engineering, arts and science colleges besides ITIs across all districts.
PALAKKAD: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF) has launched the ‘i-Skill’ initiative to train youth in cyber-physical systems. The foundation is targeting training two million youth under this initiative by 2030. i-Skill is an umbrella skill development initiative by IPTIF covering a series of programs.

IIT Palakkad said, “The main aim of i-Skill is to empower the youth of the country with adequate skills to enable their employment in technological sectors, to improve productivity, and capacity building to prepare them for the evolving Cyber-Physical Systems technologies.”
As part of this initiative, IPTIF’s Skill Development Ready Centers (i-SDRC) will be established in engineering, arts and science colleges besides Industrial Training Institutes across all districts of India to offer state-of-the-art multidisciplinary training and capacity building programs for next-generation technocrats, engineers, and scientists.
This bootcamp will be covered in 12 hours over a weekend. The training material will include video, audio, powerpoint presentations and reading materials, among others. The Python for data science course consists of four modules which include context from basics of Python to data visualization.
The course also aims to impart substantial knowledge on Python and how to use it effectively for data science.

IIT Palakkad (IPTIF) i-skill: Important dates
Those interested can register for this bootcamp on the official website iptif.tech before December 15, 2021. This bootcamp will be available only in offline mode at IPTIF’s Skill Development Ready Centers (i-SDRC). Upon successful completion, a course completion certificate will be issued by IPTIF to the candidates.The tentative schedule of the bootcamp is December 18 and 19 from 9 am- 5 pm.
“There is a limited number of seats and candidates selected for this bootcamp will be required to pay a fee of Rs 500. Note that registration will not imply automatic selection,” the IIT Palakkad said.

Applicants should have graduated Class 12 or PUC. Preference will be given to those who have completed ITI or diploma.
