New MBA in Applied AI at ITM Business School focuses on practical AI skills, automation, and industry-ready management education
Institute for Technology and Management (ITM) Business School has introduced a new MBA in Applied AI, a full-time programme aimed at preparing students for a business world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. The launch event at the institute’s Navi Mumbai campus saw participation from industry leaders, academicians, and media representatives, all discussing how AI is changing the way companies operate and make decisions.
The programme has been designed for students who want to combine management skills with practical knowledge of AI applications in business. While AI concepts are already included across existing MBA specialisations at ITM Business School, this new programme focuses entirely on applied AI and its real-world business use cases.
The course will help students understand how AI can be used to automate processes, improve decision-making, design intelligent workflows, and support innovation across industries. The programme aims to create professionals who are comfortable working alongside emerging technologies and intelligent business systems.

Industry need for AI-ready professionals
Chief guest Sunil Gupta, co-founder, managing director and CEO of Yotta Data Services, said, “AI’s future will extend well beyond Silicon Valley, with India playing a pivotal role in building the underlying infrastructure. The greatest value of AI lies not in models alone, but in its application to solve complex, domain-specific challenges across industries.
He added further, “The need of the hour is professionals who combine strong business understanding with the ability to apply AI effectively and responsibly. Ultimately, when confronted with rapid technological change, we must remember: Human Intelligence remains central.”
AI skills will shape future careers
Dr. Lakshmi Mohan, director of ITM Business School and Pro Vice Chancellor of ITM Skills University, said, "Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept; it is actively reshaping the way businesses operate and make decisions."
"At ITM, we believe the next generation of management professionals must go beyond understanding AI at a surface level and instead learn how to apply it meaningfully within business ecosystems. Our MBA in Applied AI has been designed to prepare students for this shift by equipping them with practical, industry-relevant AI capabilities that will define the future of work," he added further.
With over 35 years in management education, ITM Business School said it has previously introduced specialisations such as Digital Marketing, Analytics, and FinTech ahead of industry demand trends. The institute believes the MBA in Applied AI programme is another step in preparing students for evolving business and technology roles.
