Jamia Millia Islamia to launch 5 new departments, faculty for management studies
Jamia Millia Islamia University will set up 4 new departments, upgrade an existing centre to a new department and create a new faculty of management.

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University is set to create five new departments, among which one will be made by upgrading an existing centre to a new department. The university will also create a new faculty of management as the President of India has approved the amendments to the statute of the university.
According to an office memorandum issued by the Jamia Millia Islamia registrar office, the new departments to be created are as follows:
- Department of foreign languages
- Department of hospital management hospices studies
- Department of environmental studies
- Department of design and innovation
- Department of management studies
The university will establish the department of management studies by upgrading the existing centre for management studies. The new faculty to be created as per the amendment is the faculty of management studies. The establishment of new departments and faculty has been made by amending the statutes 17, 20 and 22-A of the statute of Jamia Millia Islamia university.

Jamia Millia had recently adopted the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) for admission to for admissions to 10 undergraduate courses. Candidates are required to appear for the CUET 2022 exam as well as register on the JMI website -- jmicoe.in, and enter CUET 2022 application number in the JMI admission form.
