JEE Main 2020: 5 things to keep in mind for the exam

NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting JEE Main 2020 from September 1 to 6. In spite of the demands for the postponement of the exam, the authorities have assured the students that maximum measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of the students. Guidelines and SOPs regarding JEE Main have been released by the authorities.

Since the examination for this session is being held under different circumstances, there are a few things which the students are expected to keep in mind to have a safe and smooth experience.

Undertaking is essential

While downloading the JEE Main admit card, the students had to complete an undertaking which was then reflected in the pdf along with the admit card. While reporting to the exam centre, the students will have to present the undertaking duly filled in and affixed with photograph and signature.

Masks and Sanitizers are a must

NTA has allowed the students to carry a 50ml hand sanitizer to the examination centre. Along with the sanitizer, the students should also carry their own 3 ply mask and a transparent water bottle and transparent ballpoint pen. Sanitizers will also be provided at every entry point at the centre.

Report early

Students are advised to reach early so that the checking process is completed quickly and they can settle inside the centre as soon as possible. This will ensure that there is no overcrowding at the gates of the centre. Students are also advised to not bring their parents/guardians to the centre.

Dress code

For the first time, NTA has released guidelines regarding the dress code for JEE Main. Students wearing shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons will not be allowed inside the examination centre.

Strict ‘No Touch’ policy

Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be strictly maintained at the centres. The entry and exit of the candidates will be done in an orderly manner and enough gaps will be kept between the seating arrangements. The admit card will also be checked through their barcodes and minimum physical contact will be allowed. COVID-19 affected candidates will be given separate rooms and the entire centre will be sanitized after each shift.

As per the statistics released by NTA, around 7.6 lakh admit cards have already been downloaded by students all over the country. Recently, NTA also confirmed that the examination will be conducted as scheduled and that all measures are being taken for the process to be held safely.
