NEW DELHI: Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main 2024) April 5 shift 1 exam was held today from 9 am to 12 noon. Students found the question paper “moderately” difficult. They said April 5 shift 1 JEE Main exam was easier than the session 1 papers in January.

However, experts said today’s paper was more difficult than April 4 session 2 shift 1 and 2 papers. Students found maths questions relatively harder than physics and chemistry. The maths section was also lengthy and the number of theory-based questions in all the three subjects were less, the students said.
Physics section questions were mostly formula-based. The chemistry section had a few NCERT-based questions and was relatively tougher than the physics section, students said.
Students had to attempt 90 questions for a total of 300 marks in three hours. Each section – physics, chemistry and mathematics – had 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and 10 numerical questions. Students had to attempt five numerical questions in each section.
The maths section was most difficult while chemistry questions were harder than physics, said students.
