NTA released the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 provisional answer key along with the response sheets on April 11. As per the official notice, candidates can raise objections against the answer key till April 13 by paying Rs 200 per question.
After several complaints came online, including claims of wrong response sheets and answer mismatches, NTA said it is reviewing the issue. It also asked students to wait for an official update before paying any challenge fees.
NTA has said that it has reviewed the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 provisional answer key, including the April 5 Chemistry paper. The updated provisional answer key is now available on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students can check the revised JEE Mains Session 2 answer key and raise objections through the official process.

Earlier, students said the problem was mainly in the Chemistry section, while Physics and Mathematics papers were mostly normal. Some students also said their response sheets did not match what they had attempted in the exam.
In one post on X, a user said his daughter’s response sheet did not match her answers. He said the question order and marked options were different from what she had attempted in the exam. He asked the authorities to look into the issue.

Students also said that the problem seemed to be mostly in the Chemistry section, while the Physics and Mathematics papers looked normal. Many students had asked NTA to check the JEE Main Session 2 answer key and give a clear update soon to avoid confusion.
In response to the concerns, NTA said, “It was examining the matter and would take action if any discrepancies were found.”
Meanwhile, students had been asked to wait for an official update before raising objections or paying any fees to challenge questions.
For BE and BTech (Paper 1), around 11.06 lakh candidates registered in India and 4,229 abroad. About 93% appeared, which is roughly 10.33 lakh candidates.
For BArch and BPlanning (Paper 2), about 54,953 candidates registered in India and 270 abroad. Nearly 73% appeared, which is around 40,300 candidates.
